How Fremont Arrests Move
Fremont Police Department handles city enforcement. It also runs a Temporary Holding Facility. The jail became temporary holding in November 2021, after years as a Type-1 jail. It holds adults arrested by FPD pending release or transfer, processes court-ordered bookings, and handles transport. Bail unposted means a transfer to Alameda County Jail at Santa Rita on the next available transport.
This local stage sets Fremont apart. The city is not direct-to-county. A fresh arrest can sit in FPD records before the person appears in the Alameda County locator. Hours run 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. daily. Not every police contact becomes a county booking. Citation releases may never reach the county roster.
Where Fremont Arrests Appear
Fremont posts no complete booking list with names. The Week in Review, once called the Police Blotter, summarizes selected cases and crime stats instead. Need current custody or pending charges? The FPD Media Relations page points the public to Alameda County's locator.
| Channel | Photo? | Status | What it answers |
|---|---|---|---|
| FPD Week in Review | No booking gallery | Official city | Selected weekly cases and statistics |
| Fremont Temporary Holding Facility | Not a public gallery | Official city | Local hold and transfer process |
| ACSO inmate locator | No public photo field observed | Official county | Current county custody by name or PFN |
| FPD Records Unit | Subject to policy and law | Official city | CAD history and releasable police records |
| Countywide aggregators | Sometimes | Unofficial | Secondary copies that require verification |
These tools answer different questions. The weekly summary is selective city coverage. The local facility is only a temporary stage. The county locator shows present status, not a permanent arrest archive.
Find Someone Arrested in Fremont
Timing decides the first move. A person may still be at Fremont's facility. They may have been released there. They may be riding to Santa Rita. County intake adds transport, identification, health review, and fingerprints, and historical county inspection material described six to eight hours, though that 2018–2019 account is context rather than a current deadline.
- Check the FPD Week in Review when the event is one of the selected cases. Do not expect a full name-by-name feed.
- For a very fresh arrest, contact the Fremont Police detention or records channel and ask which agency currently holds the person.
- Search the ACSO locator with first and last name, or PFN. Use date of birth and phonetic search to narrow uncertain spelling.
- If there is no match, consider release, citation, transfer lag, a legally omitted name, or another custody system before drawing a conclusion.
- Request the city report from FPD and county booking material from ACSO. Check Alameda Superior Court for the later case result.
State-prison custody runs through CDCR CIRIS, not the county roster. Federal and immigration custody use separate federal sources. The Alameda County recent-arrest overview maps those custody layers. A blank county result is limited, not complete history.
Fremont's Temporary Arrest Hold
The handoff to county custody is the key Fremont angle, and an FPD arrest starts the clock. Holding bridges the wait for the next county transport. It can also end in local release. That is why arrest time, Fremont processing time, and Santa Rita booking time may all differ. The Daily Arrest Report explains why the retired county browse view never closes that gap.
Santa Rita sits at 5325 Broder Boulevard in Dublin. It is the current main Alameda County jail. The old Glenn E. Dyer facility closed permanently in June 2019. Stale pending-release boilerplate still appears on the county locator anyway. Fremont's facility is not a long-term county jail. Dyer should not be treated as open.
Note: Search during local holding and you may be too early, while a later blank result can mean release rather than no arrest.
Request Fremont Police Arrest Records
The FPD Records Unit is the city route for releasable records. CAD incident history counts as public, subject to redaction. This route has limits. A person arrested or named as a suspect cannot get the arrest report this way. That report comes through court or counsel's discovery process, the formal exchange of case material inside a court matter.
The report-request page lists a $16 fee. Mail requests need valid government identification. Review can take up to 10 calendar days. Those terms belong to Fremont and should not be blended with ACSO's actual-cost policy for county requests.
- Identify the event by date, location, parties, and report number when known.
- Use the FPD Records Unit route and confirm eligibility for the requested record.
- Provide the listed identification for a mailed request and follow the city's fee instructions.
- For county booking data or a booking photograph, send a separate request through ACSO NextRequest with the name, PFN, booking date, and arresting agency.

Fremont Arrest Photo Limits
An old FPD policy document said the department would not proactively release a suspect's booking photo. Release required a threat or danger plus a captain's approval. That document is dated. Treat it as policy history only. Confirm current rules with FPD.
The county picture is also narrow. The current ACSO locator shows no booking-photo field. County materials confirm that intake includes photography and images exist internally, but those facts do not make a photo public online, so ask ACSO records about a specific image. A blank search does not mean no photo exists.
The official ACSO public-records portal is the county request path.
The portal exists for county booking requests. It does not display photos. Use it to ask about a specific record. Any released image comes through that request process.
Fremont Arrest Reports Versus News
The Week in Review is FPD's flagship publication. It picks which cases to include. Oakland publishes daily PDFs. Hayward leans on statistical blotters, so its numbers can't be combined with Fremont's or stacked into one county arrest total.
Private mugshot sites work differently. RecentlyBooked, Mugshots.com, and muglist sometimes carry Alameda County entries, and Mugshots.com includes a Fremont link even though its date navigation leans toward older arrests. RecentlyBooked states that the county supplies no booking photos, while Arrests.org, Busted Newspaper, and Mugshots.zone list no Alameda section at all. None of these are government sources. They lag corrections, cannot confirm who is in custody, and should serve only as a first lead toward a Fremont arrest record.
Confirm everything at the source. FPD verifies the arrest, ACSO verifies custody, and Alameda Superior Court tracks how the case ends.
Fremont Booking Status Changes
A person just arrested may still sit in a Fremont holding facility. Someone booked at county appears in the ACSO locator. Cited or released people may never show up there. A prison sentence moves the record into CDCR's system. The Fremont report still lists the arrest, so one name can appear in one place and not another.
The county's inmate search asks for a PFN or a full first and last name. It also requires a human verification step. Middle name, sex, birth date, and phonetic spelling stay optional. Listings change, and a law-enforcement exception lets the county withhold some names. Missing names point back to the local agency.
